Worship: Christ as King

#234 Crown Him With Many Crowns (Diademata)

Crown Him with many crowns

The Lamb upon His throne

Hark how the heavenly anthem drowns

All music but its own

Awake my soul and sing

Of Him who died for thee

And hail Him as thy matchless King

Through all eternity

Crown Him the Lord of life

Who triumphed o’er the grave

And rose victorious in the strife

For those He came to save

His glories now we sing

Who died and rose on high

Who died eternal life to bring

And lives that death may die

Crown Him the Lord of love

Behold His hands and side

Rich wounds yet visible above

In beauty glorified

No angel in the sky

Can fully bear that sight

But downward bends each burning eye

At mysteries so bright

Crown Him the Lord of peace

Whose power a sceptre sways

From pole to pole

That wars may cease

And all be prayer and praise

His reign shall know no end

And round His pierced feet

Fair flowers of paradise extend

Their fragrance ever sweet

Crown Him the Lord of years

The Potentate of time

Creator of the rolling spheres

Ineffably sublime

All hail Redeemer hail

For Thou hast died for me

Thy praise shall never never fail

Throughout eternity

Hymn Of The Ages

All history shall bow before Your throne

Time and space on bended knee shall come

Though kingdoms pass away

Your majesty remains

How great You are

How great must be Your song

The Alpha and Omega without end

The Everlasting makes this wretch His friend

The angels stand in awe

This beggar heart responds

How great You are

How great must be Your song

Chorus

You’re the hymn of the ages

The hope of all the world

You carried our redemption on Your shoulders

You’re the anthem of salvation

Jesus Lord of Lords

Your legacy will echo through the ages

Oh for a countless choir in my lungs

To sing Your praises with a thousand tongues

The purpose in my days

Is ever to proclaim

How great You are

How great must be Your song

Bridge

We raise the never-ending song

The greatest song we’ve ever known

The song of angels

The hymn of ages

Holy is the Lord

We praise the never-ending One

The greatest joy we’ve ever known

All hail King Jesus

Forever glorious

Holy is the Lord

Prayer

Malachi 4:1-6

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies says, “The day of judgment is coming, burning like a furnace. On that day the arrogant and the wicked will be burned up like straw. They will be consumed—roots, branches, and all.

“But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture. On the day when I act, you will tread upon the wicked as if they were dust under your feet,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

“Remember to obey the Law of Moses, my servant—all the decrees and regulations that I gave him on Mount Sinai for all Israel.

“Look, I am sending you the prophet Elijah before the great and dreadful day of the Lord arrives. His preaching will turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers. Otherwise I will come and strike the land with a curse.”

Philippians 2:5-11

Though he was God,

he did not think of equality with God

    as something to cling to.

Instead, he gave up his divine privileges;

he took the humble position of a slave

and was born as a human being.

When he appeared in human form,

he humbled himself in obedience to God

and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor

and gave him the name above all other names,

10

that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,

in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

11

and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord,

to the glory of God the Father.

Prayers of the People and The Lord’s Prayer

Behold He Comes

A Kingdom will come

That shall not end

Where light owns the dark

And hope will win

The empires of evil

Will no longer stand

They’ll tremble defenseless

Before the Great I Am

The King is alive

He’s on the move

He’ll vanquish His foes

And Hell will lose

Injustice will flee from

The flash of His sword

There’ll be no question

That Jesus Christ is Lord

Chorus

Behold He comes the Risen One

Salvation is coming

Behold He comes the Shining Sun

Redemption is calling

Behold the Lamb who overcomes

Heaven’s champion seated on the throne

Just hold on

The King is surely coming

A great day shall come

Our jubilee

Confetti will soar

On golden streets

Our pain just a memory

Our tears wiped away

Standing in glory

At last we’ll see His face

Bridge

Every tribe every tongue

Every heart every soul

Will crown You Lord of All

Crown You Lord of All

Every knee bows before

Angels sing saints adore

And they crown You Lord of All

Crown You Lord of All
